Grainfiller waterbased rosewood 250g
Provide a smooth surface for your guitar finish by filling the wood pores and grains with grainfiller. Once processed, the surface with grainfiller can be finished with Nitrocellulose, Polyurethane (PU), Water-based paints and Shellac.
This grainfiller is water-dilutable and can be colored with our suStain guitar stains or other water-dilutable stains. Easy to apply, fast-drying and can be sanded well.
Directions for use:
Make sure that the wood is sanded up to 400 grit with the last sanding along with the grain.
Remove dust and grease free.
Take a mixing tray and dilute the grainfiller with warm water drop by drop into a lump-free and spreadable paste. As a guideline, we recommend a dilution with 10% water.
Apply the grainfiller with a brush, cloth or rubber spatula. Start in the direction of the grain and repeat in the opposite direction.
Leave to rest for 10 minutes and remove excess grainfiller with a rubber spatula or plastic card at a 45-degree angle to the grain. Rub further clean with a folded clean, dry cloth.
Allow to dry for 30 minutes before sanding (400 grit) or before applying any subsequent layer.
Allow to cure for 24 hours, sand further to the required grit for the desired finish and finish as desired with PU, Nitrocellulose, Water-based lacquers or Shellac.
Use the natural for filling pores in very light or bleached wood.
You can also color the natural with our suStain concentrate or ready mix. Then add little or no more water.
You cannot fill large holes and cracks with Grainfiller. Preferably use a mixture of Titebond quick and thick mixed with sanding dust or, depending on the desired finish, Zap epoxy finishing resin.
