Pumice powder 250g

Pumice powder is made of finely graded Igneous or Vulcanic rock and is traditionally used as a fine abrasive with which you can make a fine smudge of Shellac and wood sanding dust to fill the pores. The pumice itself does not go into the pores, which is kind of cool.

Details

Use:
Apply 3 thin layers of Shellac with a lint free cotton cloth, leaving 1 hour between the layers. Let this rest for 24 hours.

Put some pumice powder on a plate. Load your application pad with alcohol (92-98%) and dip it in the pumice. The alcohol will dissolve the applied Shellac to form a smudge with the wood sanding dust.

Rub in circular motions over the surface. When you feel the pad gets dry, or the sanding slows down, add alcohol or Pumice powder.

Wipe of any access with a lint free cloth and leave to dry.

Sand with grit 400 in the direction of the grain and clean before applying your top coats of Shellac.
