With these concentrated pure pigments you can transform the lacquer for your guitar finish to the color of your liking. The pigments are intermixable but can also be used on their own.
These thick fluid pure colors can be mixed with almost any known lacquer, such as nitrocelluloid, polyurethane and also waterbased lacquers and epoxy. You can create a completely solid color. In combination with a transparent base and a transparent base-lacquer, several coats will be required for a solid color.
You can mix 3-7% of suStain Solids with your base lacquer, with a recommendation of 5%. With 50ml of suStain Solids you have sufficient for 1L lacquer!
Mixing ratio:
The suStain Solids pigments are intermixable as desired.
Add 3-7% (mixed) suStain Solids to your base-lacquer including required hardeners or thinners. Recommended is 5%. When more than 7% is added, the capabilities of your lacquer may change, such as for example a longer drying time.
Use:
- Shake well before use - really well.
- Determine the required amount of base-lacquer.
- Measure the required amount of your (mixed) suStain Solids pigments and add to your base-lacquer.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Add your required thinner, retarder or hardener.
- Process the lacquer according to the instructions of use.
Tip:
Get the last amounts of pigments from the bottle by shaking it loose with some of the thinner/hardener for your base-lacquer. Do not leave thinner in the plastic bottle!
Test finishing products and product combinations always before use on some scrap wood.
