Guitar Finishing oil UV+ 195ml
Composed of renewable natural oils. Penetrates deep into the pores to form a tough and dense protective layer for your instrument. The oil feeds and protects the wood against dirt and moisture. Thanks to the UV filter, your instrument is longer protected against color changing due to light exposure.
For a natural satin to gloss finish, depending on the number of layers and application method. The content of this bottle is 195ml and sufficient for apr. 16 layers, so for 2 to 3 guitars!
Preparation:
Ensure a well prepared surface sanded to grit 600. Then dry the surface and remove dust before applying the oil.
Use:
Apply the Guitar finishing oil with a pad, waterproof sandpaper, sponge, cloth, roller, brush or trowel. Rub the oil over the surface until it is absorbed into the wood and an even layer is formed. Leave for max. 20 minutes and then rub with a lint-free cloth or waterproof sandpaper. Let rest for 2-4 hours before applying a next layer.
To fill grain, apply the oil with 400 - 600 grit waterproof sandpaper in circular motions over the wood. After drying and rubbing, repeat with finer grit after every 2 layers and sand in the direction of the grain with the last 2 layers. Apply at least 4 layers for good protection.
For a gloss finish apply min. 6-8 layers and rub with 3000 grit after the last layer for a smooth surface. Optionally apply Lemon oil as a final coat for an even higher gloss level.
Dry after 24-48 hours. Fully cured after 1-2 weeks.
Tip: Check our website for the complete Kovax Oilfinish sanding system.
