When you want to have blind fret ends on the fretboard of your guitar, like for example with a binding, you will need to remove a bit of the tang from the fret wire without damaging the fret crown. This professional nipper from Sintoms makes that job easy and quick!
This limiter is a welcome addition to create a consistent length of cutting. Place the limiter on the nipper and set it to the desired lenth.
1 -Position the limitor on the tang and set the correct length.
2 - Place the end of your fret wire with the side of the crown and the tang pointed to the cutting blade in the slot of the nipper
3 - Hold your fret wire in place, but make sure your fingers are clear from the cutting blade
4 - Squeeze the nipper and done!
Work from the outside of your fretwire. Precut your wire in the correct length before you start nipping. Remove only as much of the tang as absolutely necessary. The tang holds the fret in place.
