For precise nut filing for your guitar this Japanese craftmenship nut file is your new best friend.

The file has a blade of 115mm and a total length of 150mm. This one gives a nut slot of 0.010" (0.254mm) and has73 tanden per inch.

Available in different inch sizes and as a complete set of 11 files in a casing.

With the nut you determine string distance and, together with the bridge, the string height.
The fibrations from the strings are transferred via the nut to the wood of your guitar, it has to be though, smooth and durable. A lot to think about when making your nut!
