Made of Japanese steel with chemically cut specially designed teeth that prevent clogging and aligned in such a way that allows for quick removal of material without rough cuts in your wood. Tapered blade of 100mm with teeth on both sides and flat edges. Tooth pitch of 1,2mm. Fixed handle.

Iwasaki carver's files act like tiny planes taking small shavings.
The teeth of these files/rasps are arranged as a single-cut file, with diagonal rows of teeth mixed with diagonal grooves. This makes many tiny, narrow shavings with small scores and prevents big grooves like with most European rasps.
The face of the tooth is formed to make a mini chip-breaker. It breaks the shavings off and forces them up and away from the face of the file. This helps to keep the teeth from getting clogged up.
The teeth are very sharp and hard, cut fast and have a very long useful life. The Iwasaki sculpture files work on all wood types from mdf to bamboo and also on plastics & resins.The finish left by the files is so good that it reduces the sanding time extremely when compared with normal files and rasps. They are made in Japan.
The files are oiled for protection. Before first use, this oil is best removed on a piece of scrap wood.
